The aircraft involved in the accident was a DHC-6400 Twin Otter, which has been in service with the Royal Thai Police since 2020. There are three of them in total. They are used for air transport, search and rescue missions. They can carry up to 19 passengers and can take off and land at airports with short runways.
The incident occurred on the morning of April 25th while the plane was on a mission before it crashed into the sea, killing all six police paratroopers. The search and recovery of the wreckage took several days due to the conditions of the waves and the depth of the accident site. The wreckage was finally brought ashore a few days ago and is now in the process of being fully investigated
